Continuing to make her presence felt, for the fifth time this season, Tennessee State guard Erica Haynes-Overton has earned conference honours, with the latest being her fourth time named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.
In games against Southeast Missouri and Tennessee Tech, the Kansas graduate transfer put up 22.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds on .552/.750/.833 splits.
The Nashvlle native, who scored 24 in the Tigers 90-86 loss to SEMO scoreless in the first half agaisnt Tennessee Tech on Saturday but came roaring back with 21 points in the econd half of the Lady Tigers 81-72 win against the Golden Eagles.
Haynes-Overton averages 15.2 points per game, which ranks second in the OVC, trailing only Eastern Illnois’ Lariah Washington’s 17.6. Her 2.4 steals per game is third in the conference,
